Croqyetts with onion filling



  • 4 onions
  • 2 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons grated cheese (Emmental)
  • pepper
  • salt


  • 1 glass milk
  • 1 glass water
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1.5 glasses flour



Slice the onions and fry them in butter until transparent. Add breadcrumbs, grated cheese and fry until cheese melts. Season with salt and pepper.

Prepare pancakes in a traditional way. When ready, spread them with a tablespoon of filling and fold in squares. Coat the croquettes with a beaten egg and breadcrumbs. Fry on both sides until golden brown on a heated frying pan with oil.



This meal was prepared by the Village Women's Club from Owsiszcze during the 4th “Silesian Tastes Festival 2009” in Pszczyna. The Team won 3rd place in amateur category.
